April 2019 Update – Go and Follow!

Building foundations for the next generation

in the Living Word and the Written Word

When Jesus called his disciples He used the phrase, “come follow Me” (eg. Matthew 4:19). He also told his disciples to “go into all the world” (eg. Mark 16:15). The reason He uses words like “come” and “go” is that once we believe Jesus is who he said He is (God of everything) and believe what He did (reunited us with God), then we make Him God of our lives. He demands movement from what we were before being saved, to the new creation He has made in us. This growth or movement is called sanctification (becoming more like the image of Christ), and according to the Bible, it is the reason why we were saved (Phil 3:12). So whether you think you are moving toward Jesus to know Him more or you think you are running with Him in accomplishing God’s Kingdom goals, let us never be stagnant or feel we are digressing in our growth toward becoming more like Jesus. This is only accomplished by the Holy Spirit, but we have to choose to obey and move forward.

Spring SBFM:

This week we welcomed in 12 students from across America, Canada, Austria, Australia, and Taiwan for our School of Biblical Foundations and Missions.  We are expectant for the Lord to bring greater revelation of Himself as they seek to know Him more, building strong foundations in the truths of the Word that will integrate into all areas of life.

“He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.”

-Luke 6:48

DTS Outreach at a Glance:

“Our first week in Taiwan has been amazing! The Lord has been really moving through our team and using us already. Tuesday starts a 2 week Easter tour. We will be going to 15 different elementary schools and sharing about The Easter story.”

Please continue to pray for safety, fruitful ministry, and unity amongst our team!

-Dana Monteiro Jr.
Prayer Point:

Please pray with the YWAM Maui Ohana for Gods provision of a facility that would allow us to pursue the calling that he has given us.

Now Offering a Scholarship Fund!

In the past, there have been people who wanted a tax receipt for giving to students in our various programs. Unfortunately, the IRS does not allow fees or payments for services (school fees) to be considered a donation. We are happy to say that it is now possible to make a tax-deductible donation to our “student scholarship fund” and get a tax receipt! The only catch is that you cannot designate it for a specific student. Your donation will be applied to the student of the school leadership’s choosing. This is the only way the IRS will see it as a donation. If you want to give to a specific student, your gift will be categorized as a payment to a service (AKA school fees) and cannot receive a tax receipt.

If you would like to contribute to this fund you can do so here!
